Jim Kitson

Jim is from Newport in South Wales and after a fun filled career in pop music, began acting in his early thirties. Jim has worked extensively in theatre and after 8 years with Northern Stage, he has acted in shows for the National Theatre, The Royal Exchange, Hull Truck and Live Theatre in Newcastle and seasons with the RSC and Shakespeare's Globe to name a few.

TV work includes Inspector George Gently, Tracey Beaker and Byker Grove for the BBC and Emmerdale and Vera for ITV. A talented writer, Jim has been commissioned to write and direct several short films and has a feature film in development.

With a love for music, Jim is also a talented singer and musician. He has worked as a Musical Director for Northern Stage, NTC touring theatre and Live (where he was Musical Director on the original West End production of Cooking with Elvis.)

Lesser known facts about Jim is that he is an enthusiastic amateur entomologist and "can become quite boring on the subject if encouraged". His great great great Grandfather was William Perry, (aka The Tipton Slasher) barefist boxing champion of Britain in the 1880s.

Jim recently appeared in The Grinning Man at the Trafalgar Studios, London. Directed by Tom Morris.
