Assad trained at the Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre where he gained a BA (Hons) in Acting.

Assad is regularly involved with workshopping new plays to include an UNTITLED DAVID EDGAR PROJECT and MOBY DICK for the RSC and CAPTAIN OF THE ENDS for the National Theatre; he can also be heard voicing Sathnam Sanghera’s critically acclaimed book, THE BOY WITH THE TOPKNOT.
He was last seen on screen alongside John Boyega in Steve McQueen’s drama for the BBC/Amazon Studios, SMALL AXE and in a BBC airing of RSC’s The Winter’s Tale in the lead role of Florizel, filmed during the pandemic following cancellation of the run at the RSC.
Assad can currently be seen playing 'Armand' in series 1 and 2 of AMC’s, INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE - a small-screen adaptation of Anne Rice’s iconic vampire novel.
