Justin McDonald

 

Justin is originally from Tyneside in the North East of England. He won a scholarship to the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where he gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Acting. He went on to complete his studies early as he was plucked out of drama school to play a lead role in the prime-time ITV drama 'Distant Shores' opposite Peter Davison and Samantha Bond.

 

Since then, Justin has worked consistently as an actor in film, television and theatre. His television work has seen him continue to play leading roles in many acclaimed television productions such as 'Holby City', 'The Bill', 'Torchwood', 'Afterlife', 'Casualty', ‘Emmerdale' and the crime detective series 'Inspector George Gently'. More recently Justin was seen in the BBC's 'Wolfblood' (Disney in the US). His stage debut came in 2010 when he joined the cast of 'Backbeat' - the original stage adaption of the award winning film with director, Iain Softly.

 

Justin's first major feature film saw him appearing alongside Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor in the Beatrix Potter biopic 'Miss Potter' directed by the Oscar nominated Chris Noonan. He then went on to play a role in the Blake Morrison biopic 'And When Did You Last See Your Father?' directed by Anand Tucker which featured a strong ensemble cast including the Oscar winning Colin Firth and Jim Broadbent.

 

Justin can currently be seen in new feature film 'Winter Ridge' produced by Camelot Films.
