James Bye


‎James graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy in 2005.


He can currently be seen playing Martin Fowler in 'Eastenders' on BBC1 but before taking on the iconic role, he carved out a varied career on stage and screen.  Highlights include working on the BBC production of 'The Great Train Robbery‎' with director Julian Jarrold and starring in several well-reviewed theatre productions; Ralph in 'Tea & Sympathy' and Ainger in 'Young Woodley' (Finborough Theatre).


James has also had roles in several mainstream films including Hummingbird, Hooligan Factory and Cemetery Junction alongside short films; 'Apple', 'The Monument' and 'Jonathan Andrews' which he co-wrote.‎


In his spare time, James is a keen golfer and sports enthusiast. He also enjoys writing, cooking and spending time with his family. 


James currently lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife Victoria, his sons Edward and Louis, and their 2 dogs Beefeater and Bombardier.
